About the West Lafayette Climate Strike April 24 Livestream: 

 

The team based in West Lafayette, IN was planning a climate strike for April 24 prior to recent events. Due to these circumstances, the strike will be a live stream on Friday, April 24 from 4:30-5:30pm EST. This falls on a global strike date during the week of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. It will be held via Zoom, but will hopefully be streamed on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. Although this strike action is primarily organized by West Lafayette students, we are excited to have the support and contributions of other Indiana climate action organizations including: NWI Youth Climate Council, Youth Climate Accord, Youth Climate Coalition, and Earth Charter Indiana. Our livestream is open and accessible throughout Indiana for all students and adult allies. We will be demanding that the Tippecanoe County Council repeal their wind farm ban, that West Lafayette follow through with their 2019 climate resolution, and that environmental justice is met for all Hoosiers. The strike will feature a variety of speakers around Indiana including students and adult allies and will emphasize the need to “unite behind the science” and take urgent climate action throughout the state.
